Hi, My name is Victoria Castela and I am a secondary English education major as well as being a member on the women’s soccer at the college. Majority of the classes I have to take are English based but the tend to be able history or literature from the past. I choose this class because I thought it would be different, fun and interesting because it is all about music. I listen to music almost all day, everyday. The genres I listen to vary depending on the mood I am and what I am doing. For instance, when I go to the gym and lift I put rap/hip hop music on to get me in the zone, same as if I was getting ready for a soccer game. Some of these artists are DaBaby, Drake, The Kid LAROI, Lil Baby and A Boogie with a Hoodie. When I am home doing homework like right now, I listen to mellow or chill music which would be R&B music like Kehlani, SZA, Jhene Aiko, Bryson Tiller and Jacques. When I am in a sad or “ehhh” mood I listen to Sam Smith, Lewis Capladi and James Arthur. My list can go on and on but without music I feel like life would be different.

    Dear Victoria,
I can relate with music affecting my mood in relation to movement. I love to practice dance–Haitian dance and hip hop are two of my favorite styles and the music paired with these dance styles really gets you in the zone as you said. And you better believe I listen to music when I’m feeling down. I put on Bon Iver for those moods!
