Hey, everyone.
My name is Jonathan Jacques. I’m am a junior here at QC and I am a double major in English and Psychology. I am taking this course to fill a requirement for my major, but I chose this course specifically to allow myself to explore different genres of music and find new artists. I mostly listen to rap, hip-hop, and r&b, but I am very open musically and can’t wait to listen to various music types.
It sounds like people in class have a pretty wide range of musical tastes, so I think we’ll be listening to a lot of different stuff.
Hey guys,
My name is Sabina Jara I am 20 years old. Im a junior at QC and I also did a double major for Psychology and English. I wonder how that will be like. My music taste actually differs, I like throwback metal like Guns n Roses , Bon Jovi, ACDC and 4 non blades. I also listen to today’s music like rap but honestly its nothing like before’s music like Biggie or Mobb Deep or old Lil Wayne and Eminem I could say more but that will be so long. For today’s rap I listen to the more lyrical side like Jcole or G herbo and Kendrick Lamar. I aslo listen to r&b Ashanti and Aaliyah(r.i.p) also some Ja rule. Im such a 2000’s kid. I love music it takes me far from reality when we cant express ourselves we lean towards music or that’s how I see it, my mood completely changes.
Do you know the band Alabama Shakes? Btrttsny Howard, the singer, says her biggest influence is Bon scott from AC/DC.
Hi, My name is Victoria Castela and I am a secondary English education major as well as being a member on the women’s soccer at the college. Majority of the classes I have to take are English based but the tend to be able history or literature from the past. I choose this class because I thought it would be different, fun and interesting because it is all about music. I listen to music almost all day, everyday. The genres I listen to vary depending on the mood I am and what I am doing. For instance, when I go to the gym and lift I put rap/hip hop music on to get me in the zone, same as if I was getting ready for a soccer game. Some of these artists are DaBaby, Drake, The Kid LAROI, Lil Baby and A Boogie with a Hoodie. When I am home doing homework like right now, I listen to mellow or chill music which would be R&B music like Kehlani, SZA, Jhene Aiko, Bryson Tiller and Jacques. When I am in a sad or “ehhh” mood I listen to Sam Smith, Lewis Capladi and James Arthur. My list can go on and on but without music I feel like life would be different.
It’s really true that music shapes our identities. Pete writes about this too. Check out his post.
I’m curious about what’s happening with QC soccer this past year.
